Changes to The Gateway Conference Centre from 1st April 2020.
As you may already be aware, on 1 November 2018 the Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government announced a single unitary authority for Buckinghamshire.
This new council will be called Buckinghamshire Council and will replace the existing local councils – Aylesbury Vale District Council, Buckinghamshire County Council, Chiltern District Council, South Bucks District Council and Wycombe District Council – from 1 April 2020.
Over the past year, the councils have been working closely to ensure a smooth transition into the new Buckinghamshire Council. This has included looking at the services offered as well as how to best utilise the operational buildings currently used by all the five councils.
From 1 April 2020 the Gateway Offices, currently occupied by Aylesbury Vale District Council, will become the interim headquarters for Buckinghamshire Council. A view has since been taken that the requirements of the new Buckinghamshire Council will necessitate full use of the Conference Centre meeting rooms for Council business. This means the Gateway Conference Centre will be closing and will not be taking any new commercial bookings from 1 April this year.
Buckinghamshire Council has agreed to honour all bookings currently held in the diary.
If you have any questions or concerns in relation to bookings you have following 1 April, please do not hesitate to contact us.
